In honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001, and in continued honor of our first responders and military who protect us from foreign and domestic threats, we gather to pay our respects at the annual 911 Tower Challenge.
The World Trade Center's Twin Towers each consisted of 110 floors and 2,071 steps, and each year thousands of people across Arizona walk, climb and run the stairs to remember. Firefighters in full gear, Police, Military and Bomb Squad personnel march steadily alongside civilians of varying ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Photographs of our fallen heroes line the stairs, and participants pause briefly to read the names in recognition of the sacrifice each made while in the service of others. This powerful morning will reconnect you to the kindness, strength and bravery exhibited on that dark day.
All proceeds benefit The 100 Club of Arizona.
The Tower Challenge is Arizona’s opportunity to remember all the firefighters, law enforcement officers, and first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Beverages and light snacks will be available.
Exhibition Opening on September 6th, 2024 at 5:30 pm
"Convergent" is an exhibition that brings together nine prominent Mexican artists residing in the United States. Each one, from their state of residence, brings a unique vision to the world of contemporary art, from where they capture their transnational experiences and visually narrate how these experiences influence and shape the artistic practice.
"Convergent" is the meeting of diverse artistic expressions that encompass abstraction, realism, figurative and surreal, offering an in-depth exploration of identity and memory. By fusing perspectives developed between ambiguous cultures and traditions, Convergent reminds us that borders are not only geographical but also stylistic and conceptual, allowing artists to create visual languages that explore identity, belonging and transformation.
We hope that this exhibition inspires, challenges and offers new perspectives to all those who seek to understand the rich diversity of contemporary Mexican art, and the ability of art to unite us, regardless of our differences.
