Big Daddy D and The Dynamites have been entertaining audiences throughout Arizona for the past 25 years. Darryl Porras, aka Big Daddy D, started the band in Prescott with a group of friends in 1999. His passion for the blues genre has kept him pursuing his music dream. He has been playing guitar for over 30 years, developing his own unique style of traditional blues with a modern flavor. He has been nominated for the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame numerous times by his peers and has shared the stage with many great artists locally and nationally. The band won the Arizona Blues Showdown in 2007 and has performed in festivals and events throughout Arizona. Darryl was the guitar player for Cros, who finished second at the International Blues Challenge in 2022.
Betty Jo Vachon, a powerhouse singer, has a long storied singing career beginning at the age of 5 singing with her siblings. Initially discovered at an open mic, Betty Jo’s career took off in the Country scene when she met Country Music Hall of Fame icon Cliffe Stone at the world famous Palamino Club in Los Angeles. She sang country from 1980 to the mid-90s culminating in recording revamped versions out of Gene Autry’s music catalogue with the Highway 101 Band. In addition, Betty Jo was a regular performer at Del Shannon’s private events. She discovered the blues after delving into the history of music, becoming deeply moved by Soul and Blues. In 2004, she joined the BluesHounds for a long successful run and in 2019 she joined BDDD providing a much-needed spark. She is hailed by fans as a ‘Passionate…Powerful…and Soulful vocalist that connects with people’.
Dr. Bob Sellani is the Founder of the Northern Arizona Blues Alliance (501 c(3), and has been one of the go-to Blues drummers in Northern Arizona for over a decade playing drums for a long list of Who's Who in Blues in AZ and beyond. In 2017, we were a semi-finalist (AZ Blues All-Stars, with Renee Rice), in the Memphis International Blues Challenge and In 2019, was inducted into the Heritage Blues Hall of Fame as both a drummer and Blues ambassador for the State of Arizona.
Rick Mutter is an internationally recognized keyboard player and vocalist with over 55 years of experience. He has performed with numerous bands in the Pacific Northwest and Arizona, engaging audiences with his captivating blend
of blues, rock, funk, and jazz. He is a 2-time winner of the Arizona Blues Showdown and awarded a 2nd place finish in the 2022 International Blues Challenge. Whether performing bluesy ballads, delivering energetic keyboard riffs, or improvising intricate jazz melodies, Rick’s passion for music shines through in every performance.
Rachelle Romeo is a Phoenix area based saxophonist and respected veteran of the Los Angeles Blues and Jazz scene. She has performed with Peter Cetera, Flora Purim, Harlis Sweetwater (Alpine Blues Fest), Dallas Hodge and is a second place winner in the 2022 International Blues Challenge.
