As President of ONE Community and ONE Community Foundation, Angela works with LGBTQ+, business and political communities on issues of diversity, equity, equality and inclusion and their impact on our economy. In 2013, ONE Community launched the UNITY Pledge to advance workplace equality and equal treatment for LGBTQ+ individuals, which has become the nation’s largest equality pledge with 3,600 business signers. In January 2022, ONE Community launched the bipartisan Equality and Fairness for all American Campaign nationwide to advance federal civil rights protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. The coalition is composed of diverse business, LGBTQ+, elected, and faith leaders.

Alexander Patrick-Rolando, PhD, is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Glendale Community College. He is also a Residential Faculty member teaching in the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy and Religious Studies. In addition to this work at GCC, Dr. Patrick-Rolando serves as a Diversity Representative on the Diversity Advisory Council for the Maricopa County Community College District. Outside of the world of higher education, he is an artist throughout the Phoenix Metro Area and happily serves as one of the board members for the Glendale Chamber.

The University of Arizona Men's Basketball team will take the Red-Blue Showcase on the road to Desert Diamond Arena on Friday, October 11 to provide fans a chance to see the Wildcats in person. The event in Glendale will be hosted by Jefferson and Kaslow alongside 14-year NBA veteran and 2008 NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins.
The Red-Blue Showcase provides fans their first chance to get a look at the U of A Men’s Basketball team for the 2024-25 season. This event will feature player introductions, an exciting 3-point contest, and a highly anticipated slam dunk contest, followed by a scrimmage.

Individuals looking for careers in fields with job security, advancement and a critical importance to the nation’s infrastructure needs will find their path at the Refrigeration School’s (RSI) Open House. At the open house, instructors will speak with future students and discuss how they can become skilled industry professionals in just seven months. Prospective students will receive a guided tour of RSI workshops, classrooms, and hands-on training facilities. Instructors will also showcase the hands-on skills students will develop through live demos and presentations. Local employers will also be onsite to answer questions that prospective students may have about a career in the trades, as demand for highly skilled trade workers continues to grow. This demand, paired with RSI’s strong relationships with local businesses, allows students to enter the workforce as soon as they are certified. Seventy percent of graduates secure a job in their field, and RSI’s robust career center helps students every step of the way.

GCON Gives has partnered with the 100 Club, an organization dedicated to providing for officers and their families after tragedy strikes, for their 2024 Poker Run event on Friday, October 25 at the Boulders OHV trail in Whittman. GCON Gives is seeking participants who can provide their own side-by-side off-road vehicles and assemble a team to join in the fun through sponsorships. A poker run is an event in which participants use all-terrain vehicles to visit checkpoints drawing a playing card at each checkpoint. The object is to have to best hand at the end of the run. Just five days before the election, Tucker Carlson will host a live interview of President Trump in front of the American people.
