Join the Glendale Chamber for a FREE, virtual event to catch the latest updates on the coronavirus through the lens of our primary medical providers. We will be hosting CEO of Abrazo Health, Brian Elisco, Chief Medical Officer for Adelante Healthcare, Robert D. Babyar, and CEO of Banner Thunderbird, Debbie Flores, for an insightful discussion on the state of our hospitals and the pivotal roles they have played in our community throughout the pandemic and beyond. There will also be plenty of time for Q&A, so don't be afraid to come prepared with questions.

Speaker Biography's:

Brian Elisco - Abrazo Health, CEO
Brian Elisco, FACHE, MBA is Group Chief Executive Officer for Abrazo Health, Carondelet Health and CEO of Abrazo’s Arrowhead Campus. Prior to joining Abrazo Health, Brian served as the Group Chief Financial Officer for nine hospitals in San Antonio, New Braunfels, Nacogdoches, Harlingen and Brownsville, Texas. In this role Brian was responsible for the financial operations and performance of 2,933 licensed hospital beds, $2B net revenue and a variety of ancillary health care entities including 20 outpatient rehabilitation centers, 8 micro hospitals, 3 freestanding emergency departments, and a School of Health Professions. Brian has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as a Health System CFO to Know and named to their 90 Healthcare Leaders Under 40 List. He was also chosen as a Modern Healthcare Top 25 Emerging Leader, an award that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in the areas of innovation and financial, operational and clinical excellence early in their careers. Brian is a collaborative leader who works closely with other functional leaders to determine the best processes to achieve operational excellence. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration Specialization from Baylor University in Waco Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Arizona, Tucson. Brian is an Arizona native, a husband and father of two.

Robert D. Babyar - Adelante Healthcare, Chief Medical Officer
Robert D. Babyar, MD is the Chief Medical Officer for Adelante Healthcare who has mainly worked in community health for the last 20 years.

Dr. Babyar received his medical training at the University of Arizona-College of Medicine. His residency education was completed in Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. After graduating, he had 2 different stints at Sun Life Family Health Center in Pinal County. He currently has been working at Adelante Healthcare for the last 4 years.

Dr. Babyar always takes time to travel with his wife and 12 ½ year old twin children. He spends his free time enjoying sports of all kinds and relaxing at home.

Debbie Flores - Banner Thunderbird, CEO
Debbie Flores has over thirty years of health care leadership and senior level operations experience with non-profit and for-profit organizations.  She has had several progressively responsible positions that include Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of Operations, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. 

In 2006, she joined Banner Health as an Associate Administrator at Banner Estrella Medical Center. Debbie was promoted to the CEO of Banner Heart Hospital in January 2011. She transitioned to CEO of Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in May 2012, then later assumed oversight of Banner Boswell Medical Center.  In December 2019, Debbie moved to her latest role as CEO of Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

Debbie is active in the professional community through the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds her FACHE certification. Debbie also serves on the American Hospital Association, Regional Policy Board 8. She is a native of Phoenix, Arizona and is married with two grown daughters. She is proud to say that she has six grandchildren who also live in the area. She enjoys all types of sporting events especially football, along with traveling, outdoors and hiking. One of her favorite relaxation spots is on the beach enjoying the sunset.
