"Understanding Dementia — A Challenging Journey" is the topic of a special Hospice of the Valley community presentation on Monday, Jan. 27, at Lord of the Life Church, 13724 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West. Join us to learn more about dementia and helpful available resources at this no-cost event.
Participants will understand dementia and how it progresses from early to advanced stages; develop strategies for making meaningful connections with the person with dementia; and value the caregiver role and explore ways to reduce stress.
Leading the presentation is Maribeth Gallagher, who directs Hospice of the Valley's Dementia Program, recognized nationally and internationally for its innovative approaches to dementia care. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The program runs from 9 a.m. to noon. A continental breakfast will be provided.
