Event Description
The West Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance invites you to a panel discussion that will examine water adequacy for the residential and business needs in the West Valley. The West Valley Chamber of Commerce Alliance consists of Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, Peoria Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce.

Ron Klawitter, Salt River Project (SRP)
Ron Klawitter is the Manager of the Water System Projects group at the Salt River Project. His team is responsible for preparing SRP's water system for the next century of service-building on more than a century of water resiliency. Ron has more than a decade of experience in water and energy planning, including serving as Senior Policy Advisor to the Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation from 2018 to 2020. Ron has a bachelor's degree in Economics and Mathematics from NAU and a master's degree in Applied Economics from the University of Arizona. Ron was born and raised in Arizona and grew up swimming in the canals and irrigation ponds of Arizona's Verde Valley that are fed by the Verde River. 



Mayor Eric Orsborn, City of Buckeye

Eric Orsborn was elected Mayor in 2020, after serving on the Buckeye City Council as the District 6 representative from 2010 to 2020. Mayor Orsborn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in construction management from Arizona State University. Mayor Orsborn is the owner of OCM, a construction and maintenance company based in Buckeye, Arizona. He has previously been employed in construction and land development and project management. A graduate of the first Buckeye Leadership Academy, Mayor Orsborn is also a Blue Blazer and member of Fighter Country Partnership, a group that supports the men, women and the mission of Luke Air Force Base. He also serves on the MAG Regional Council and Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) boards. Mayor Orsborn is a native of Arizona. He and his wife, Tina, have a daughter and son, Emma and Jack. Mayor Orsborn and his family have resided in the community of Verrado since 2004.



Warren Tenney, Arizona Municipal Water Users Association
Warren Tenney was appointed Executive Director of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association in February 2016. Warren is a member of the Governor's Water Augmentation Council. Before becoming AMWUA’s Executive Director, Warren had been the Assistant General Manager for Metro Water District in Pima County, Arizona, since 1994. Warren was a two-term elected member of the Central Arizona Project Board of Directors representing Pima County. While a Board member, he served as Vice-President of the CAP Board and as Chair of the Board's Finance, Audit & Power Committee for three years. He also served as Chair of the Public Policy Committee. He resigned his CAP Board position in January 2016. Warren was active in the formation of the Water Conservation Alliance of Southern Arizona (Water CASA) and the Southern Arizona Water Users Association (SAWUA) and has been president of both organizations. He has participated on state and regional water committees over the years including the legislatively created Water Resources Development Commission (2010-2011) serving as co-chair of the Environmental Working Group. He also chaired the Water Resources Committee for the AZ Water Association for six years. Warren is a fourth generation Arizonan. He earned his B.A. at Arizona State University and earned an M.A. at Northern Arizona University.



Mayor Kenn Weise, City of Avondale
Mayor Weise has served as Avondale Mayor since 2014, and before that served as Vice Mayor and as a City Council member. Mayor Weise has also served as chairman of the Transport Policy Committee for MAG and most.recently as chairman of the MAG Regional Council.



Mayor Rui Pereira, City of Wickenburg

Rui Pereira is a long-time resident of Wickenburg and has previously served on the council from 2008 - 2012 and again from June 2016 through December 2018. He was elected Mayor in June 2019. Mayor Pereira was born in Portugal and has a background in hotel operations and information technology. He started his career as a software trainer/project manager for Micros Fidelio Software installing property management systems in South America and the Caribbean. He later served as Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for Loreto Bay Company in Scottsdale, Arizona. A Wickenburg resident since 1995, Mayor Pereira is a former General Manager of Rancho de las Caballeros Guest Ranch and the former Executive Director of The Wellik Foundation and the Flying E Guest Ranch. In late 2018, he purchased Ascend Security and Audio, Inc. a local security and home technologies company.

The West Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance is represented by Alexis Glascock, an attorney at Fennemore, who heads up the firm's lobbying team in Arizona. She represents the business interests of the six West Valley Chambers of Commerce at the capitol.​
