Welcome to the Southwest Foot Institute
The Southwest Foot Institute, established by Dr. Michael Dershowitz in 1979, has several offices throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area. The Institute is dedicated to the treatment of all ages of patients, from children to senior citizens, and has always believed that the more a patient understands their condition and the treatment options available to them, the more successful their treatment will be.
In addition to the typical issues that all podiatrists treat, such as diabetic foot care, heel pain, bunion and hammertoe deformities, fractures of the foot and ankle, ingrown toe nails, corns, flat feet and calluses, the doctors at Southwest Foot Institute also provide patients with innovative solutions to heel conditions, nerve conditions and flat foot conditions with minimally invasive surgical procedures and non-invasive procedures with proven excellent outcomes.
Are you in pain going barefoot, wearing flip-flops or sandals? We are pleased to announce that the doctors at the Southwest Foot Institute are now treating flat feet/fallen arches with a minimally invasive new technology HyProCure.
This tiny device is used to correct misalignment feet, a condition that causes the foot and the rest of the body to be out of alignment, often resulting in painful arches, ankles, knees and low back pain. HyProCure represents a real solution for foot displacement and its effects throughout the body and has been scientifically proven to instantly correct the problem at its root, rebalancing the forces of the foot. One of the most exciting arenas in which the Institute has embarked upon, is the treatment of neuropathy; This is a condition that plagues both diabetics and non-diabetics, and is characterized by numbness, pain, burning, tingling, and a multitude of sensations that only those who suffer from this condition might be able to identify.
Neuropathy, and its eventual outcomes, is the leading cause of amputation in the world and is the reason that so many diabetic patients eventually lose portions of limbs.
At the Southwest Foot Institute we can identify and determine the level and degree of neuropathy and then offer several solutions to this terrible dilemna and, in some cases, can successfully eliminate these symptoms, as well as restoring sensation, with an outpatient surgical procedure. Many patients do not require surgery and have successful outcomes with non-invasive FDA approved MLS Laser Therapy.
