Developmental Enrichment Centers is a faith based, nonprofit agency founded in 2008 to provide quality care in a loving and supportive environment to developmentally disabled children and adults. Together the staff brings over thirty years of combined experience working on behalf of children and adults with disabilties such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Cognitive Delay, and Epilepsy.
Our mission is to reflect God's love for the developmentally disabled and their families by providing a community that nurtures spiritual, emotional, and physical growth for all those we are privileged to serve.
Some of the ways wefulfill our mission is through the day treatment and training programs designed to help adults and children who need assistance learning basic life skills, have physical care needs, desire increased social interaction, and require behavioral training. We recognize the importance of providing the best opportunity for each client to grow at their own pace in a loving and supportive environment.
Limited Transportation service is available for pick-up from home or school to the program and then back home again. Transportation service is vital to our clients and in the cases of the medically fragile may be the only means for a client to participate in community activities or simply leave their home for a few hours.
Home Based Services through DEC provide an array of training, assistance, and support designed to enable persons of any age who have a disability or long term illness, to learn better daily living skills, improve communication, and reduce maladaptive behaviors. Specially trained staff work with the client and their family to learn the skills needed to support basic activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, dressing, laundry, and meal preparation. Attendant Care providers assist individuals who are unable to learn and independently perform these essential life skills.
One of the most critical supports for families is by providing relief from daily caregiving responsibilities and direct care to the disabled or individual with long term illness. Respite allows the caregiver an opportunity to enjoy a quiet dinner out with a spouse, visit friends, or simply take a much needed nap.
