The festival will be held at Vistancia Trilogy, Peoria Arizona, a master-planned community surrounded by dramatic natural vistas of the Sonoran Desert, making it a unique setting for this event.  From the emerging setting of desert foothills, artists will be able to summon inspiration for painting in their unique style with their chosen media.  Each artist attending will be allowed to exhibit, in the onsite gallery, up to three of their paintings created during the event. The gallery will be open all three days of the festival for the public to view and purchase art.  Breakfast for attending artists will also be provided each day, with an onsite restaurant and bar on premises for lunch or dinner on their own.

Friday will be a day of painting and demonstrations, with professional artists Bill Cramer, Claudia Hartley, Brad Holt, Julie Gilbert, and Martin Dimitrov showing their painting styles and providing individual instruction.  Each artist is unique in their style and will bring much knowledge of the “plein air” process to participants.  For more information about the artists and demonstration schedule, log on to WHAM’s web site at http://www.wham-art.org/sonoran-pa-artists.html.

Saturday festivities will continue with more painting and demonstrations, concluding with a ‘dark painting competition evening”.  All artists and the public can attend the revelries and enjoy live music and partake in a ‘meet & greet’ activity, with food and beverages available for purchase.

Sunday, noon, concludes the festival with judging and an awards ceremony, commencing at 3:30 p.m.  Over $3,000 in cash prizes will be given for Best in Show, First, Second and Third places, a Peoria Councilwoman Binsbacher Award, a Night Painting Competition Award, and two Merit awards. Artwork will be judged by the featured professional artists.
